What to see in Katowice? Interesting places in a heart of Silesia!

Are you visiting Katowice for a city break? Here is some advice on how can you make your stay in one of the biggest cities in a heart of Silesia.

1. Pszczyna Castle – a little history in a town

The history of the palace goes back to the middle ages. The palace we know today is the result of many reconstructions and extensions over many years. The palace flourished during the “reign” of the representatives of the princely family Hochberg von Pless. Today, thanks to the museum located within the palace walls (the Castle Museum in Pszczyna), we can admire magnificent interiors, richly decorated rooms with original furnishings. Also the chambers of the famous Princess Daisy, the wife of Hans Heinrich XV Hochberg, the owner of the Brewery in Tychy, a legend in his times. The palace is surrounded by a wonderful English-style park. It is especially beautiful here in spring when the surrounding trees are blooming and the flowers enchant with a variety of colors. You can get to Pszczyna from Katowice by train from the Central Station (direction Bielsko-Biała). The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. More information about that place you can find here.
