Planning a trip to Łódź? See how to travel more efficiently around Łódź! Why don’t go on this trip together? Let us discover Poland with You!
Łódź is located in the heart of central Poland, and is the largest and most rapidly developing city in łodzkie voivodoship. It is famous for its beautiful Old Town and Piotrkowska street, numerous monuments and a good tourist offer. So why not venture off the beaten track and visit Łódź for a few days?
…and the best rates in Poland!
There are many ways to get around the city, including by cab, rickshaw, city bicycle or public transportation – streetcar or bus (including night lines). Detailed information on MPK timetables and current ticket prices is available here. Temporary tickets (up to 20, 40 and 60 minutes) are valid in Łódź, but there are also one-day tickets and short-term tickets for weekend or 5-day tickets. They can be purchased at kiosks, ticket machines located at bus stops in the city center, at train stations, as well as on buses and streetcars. In most of them you can pay with coins and/or credit cards, in some only with cards.
The city bicycle is a very popular way of public transport in Łódź. It is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, from March to November. The Łódź Public Bike Network currently has 157 stations and 1584 bicycles. In order to use a city bike, one must register in advance on the website or via the free Nextbike mobile application.
Łódź Airport is located in the southwestern part of the city at a distance of 6 km from the center. The location of Łódź Airport allows for quick access to the city center (for example Piotrkowska street) and to the Łódź Kaliska railroad station. In a dozen minutes you can reach Łódź hotels and shopping centers. It takes about 30 minutes to get to the Łódź Fabryczna main railway station.
Bus
Direct access to the airport is provided by public transport buses: 65B. Stops are located directly in front of the terminal entrance.
Taxi
When it comes to using cabs, it’s safest to use cab corporations that have clearly defined rules for charging the cost of a ride. So instead of getting into a cab waiting at a stop, it is better to order one by phone or use a dedicated mobile app.
Piotrkowska, for years considered the longest shopping street in Europe, is today becoming a center of entertainment and gastronomy. It has recently undergone a comprehensive renovation and today, as an elegant public space, it attracts crowds anew. The street is decorated with beautiful townhouses and palaces.
The landmark of the complex is the distinctive red brick five-story former cotton mill. In addition to stores, Manufaktura houses an Entertainment and Recreation Center, restaurants, cafes, a Cultural Complex, an Automobile Center, and a hotel. It was formerly home to Łódź’s largest factory, the Israel Poznanski factory.
There are plenty more places to go in Łódź but remember whenever you will visit this lovely city, don’t forget to stop by our branch in Łódź, Manufactura. The newest Tavex branch on the map of Łódź where you can easily exchange your money or check our offer in person. We have over 60 currencies from all over the world, always available on the spot.
